Movie Trailers: can my friends see them? how are they selected?

Hi. I have two main questions regarding movie trailers. I hope you can help me with them. I honestly searched everywhere for these.

  1. Movie trailers and friends:
Basically, I read that there’s this great feature that loads a movie trailer before the one you actually want to see. First of all, I have to clarify that I’ve never added the trailers for myself, since I know what videos I have and don’t need them.
What I DO want is that my plex friends, who I share my videos with, can see these trailers before they stream one of my videos.
Does that feature exist? Or you can only have random trailers for yourself?
If it’s possible, I would appreciate your guidance.

  2. How does the trailer selection work?
In case Question 1 is possible, I would like to know how the trailer system works.
My ideal scenario is that Plex selects a trailer that is related to the video my friend is about to see. I read that Plex can be set up so it only selects a trailer that’s the same Content Rating as the movie (PG13, R, etc.). But does it also use other shared tags? Like movies from the same country, genre or any other tags.
To me, it would make sense that before streaming Terminator 2 (for instance), the trailer would be another action movie that is also available on the server…
    Does it work like that?

Thank you very much for your help and keep streaming.

On your server you need to first enable Cinema Trailers this and enable one or all of the check boxed in my screenshot.

the user then needs to have a number of cinema trailers selected to see before a movie in the settings of the client player they are using. (you can’t force them to see trailers)

for example in the web player that is here

In Plex Media Player that is here
