My OWN Trailer

Hi,
Is there a way to play my OWN Trailer instead of a random Trailer before a movie ?
Cheers

Hi jonpwren,

Welcome to the forums

To achieve this you must ensure you first have trailers in your library and that they are named correctly and being picked up by Plex as extras (see the Local Extras section here: https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/200220677).

Then ensure that in the servers settings you have enabled “Include Cinema Trailers from movies in my library”, see here: https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/202920803-Extras

If you ONLY want local trailers then ensure you disable to other two options there for the online trailers.

Update: This is NOT how it works

Great so I can have for example the same intro video saying welcome hope you enjoy the movie etc etc etc before each movie played

Apologies, I seem to have jumped the gun here without testing it myself. I misunderstood what this function does and it does not do what I said it does.

Unfortunately you cannot use the trailers feature in this way with local content.

Damn it lol, Thanks anyway drzoidberg33
Would be a nice feature to have

If it is only one trailer, you can do that.

Pre-Roll video

However, there is no way to inflict this pre-roll video to all of your clients mandatorily. They still have to opt-in to trailers in the settings of their respective Plex Clients.

I’m pretty sure the pre-roll video plays regardless of the trailers settings. Definitely true on the Roku app.
