Movies do not appear after scan

I made a new library for my Science Fiction films and series. I named everything using the Plex-conventions. I checked if Plex has the rights to read and write the directories on my NAS.
What happens is: some of the files don’t show up after a scan of the SF-library. Some maps/directories are completely empty, in some maps some files show up but the others don’t. I tried to find out why, searched for differences but none found. Sometimes m4p files show up, sometimes they don’t. mkv-files the same. I moved files, renamed them, did a scan over and over again. I’m lost … Anyone who can help me out?

Few questions;

What type of library did you choose? is that more then one library?

Which naming convention did you follow; example would be nice…

What is the folder naming used in the library that points to the NAS, example: D:\media

And how are these items set in the library advanced settings;

FYI; settings shown are not the normal settings and may not be available in your setup.

Thanks for your reply. I think I have found the source of the problem. The folder SF contains Films and Series. The library type was Films and indeed: only films where shown. I made another library SF series of the type ‘Series’ and here thet are shown!

I searched for the ‘scanner’ and ‘agent’ settings, this is what I found:

Although it works now (thanks for pushing me in the right direction) maybe you have some additional remarks? Thanks anyway.

Looks like your all set… Let Plex manage you media and enjoy…
