I’m having a problem where certain movies won’t start. The movie starts, but it pauses. I can rewind, but it doesn’t play. This usually happens with Dolby Vision/HDR+ hybrid movies.
The movies work perfectly via the browser or with the Windows Plex app.
Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this?

I’d like to point out that this issue occurs on various hardware devices: Amazon Fire TV 4K Max 2nd Gen and Leap S3 Pro.

I got a Rocktek G1 from a friend to test. The exact same thing happens. I’ve since found out that it’s not the video stream but the audio stream. If it’s in DTS 5.1 format, it doesn’t work. AC3 streams work perfectly. I then got another box to test, a STRONG Android TV 4K UHD - Leap-S3+ V2, and it works with this one, but you have to set the HDMI audio format on the TV to Bitstream and the audio format to DTS Neo 2:5. I don’t understand why Plex is so sensitive. It should really just convert everything and that’s it.
Windows user here and Plex just started doing this for me recently. Only thing I can change is that I double the RAM (go figure) and I have been adding a few new ripped blu rays every day.
I can fast forward and it will play, but if I start at the beginning, it just spins.
We found some problems with the DTS in the existing transcoder (how it segmented for streaming) and fixed that.
It’s possible we missed something we weren’t aware of
Would it be possible to get a snippet of the file (10-15 seconds worth) so we can test / replicate here ?
