Movies Local Media Assets Not Working After Refresh Metadata with New Agent

I recently Upgraded my Movies library to the latest Metadata Agent. I did not experience any issues with matching titles, however I do have several movies with multiple versions (e.g. DC, Theatrical, 1080p, 4K, RiffTrax, etc.) that I like to keep separate from each other rather than having all versions merged under one title. These versions are all kept in separate folders with their own copies of local media assets. The Agent update merged these when matching the titles forcing me to go through and manually split and re-label the metadata even when I had locked metadata fields.

Anyway, as I was going through splitting my versions apart I began to notice that local media assets would disappear when metadata was refreshed on the split apart titles. Only Plex Pass sourced Extras will show up. The only way I can seem to sort the issue is to perform the following steps:
1. delete all versions of a given title
2. rescan the Movies library
3. delete the trash
4. restore the deleted movies folders one at a time rescanning the library in between each addition and manually splitting them apart once again

Needless to say, this is quite cumbersome. Is anyone else having trouble getting local media assets to appear after refreshing metadata with the new agent? Can someone please help?

You’re basically SOL with the new agent… Sucks.

I can reproduce this issue on my end with the extras. I’ll look into and get a fix out for it.

My mistake, mixed up my threads.

I have submitted a fix for this - thankfully it was a silly bug and an easy fix.

It will likely be in an update some time next month.

Thanks for the prompt response. When the fix is issued in the update will I simply need to refresh metadata for the affected titles?

This will require an update to the media server.

I just updated to this Beta version and my Titles are still not updating :frowning:

My movie titles aren’t updating. They look like the filename with all the periods and stuff in the name vs the matched title.

Disable “Prefer local metadata” on the library and refresh the metadata. Unrelated to this forum topic.
