Movies stuck in "recently added" list due to date in the future [solved]

Hi!

So I have three movie files that are stuck in the top 3 of the Recently added list. I can add as many new movies as I want, refresh the metadata, delete them then put them back, the result is the same: they remain the first 3 recently added movies.

First, I discovered that the Modified date property of these three files were set to 09/08/2037. I have no idea how or when, maybe a bad file processing by another software since they’re on my NAS - anyway. So, I used a file property editor and looked everywhere for any wrong date and changed the Modified date which was incorrect.

Full rescan but still, as you can see from the screenshot these three movies remain at the top and appears to have been modified “a few seconds ago” since there’s some date that remains in the future.

What can I do? Could it be some kind of cache issue? I really don’t know where to look. I found other topics about a wrong date but their solutions did not work (use local metadata / refresh metadata).

Thanks for your help!

I cannot vouch for this BUT several users on Reddit report this works:

This is in no way, shape, or form automated, but…

Once the movie has been added, select Fix Match, and match it to the oldest movie in your library. It disappears from Recently Added, because the metadata from the old movie replaces the current metadata. Then go to that movie, and select Split Apart. Now you have two “copies” of that old movie; one correct, the other wrong as hell. Fix Match the incorrect one with the right movie information. Plex grabs all the proper metadata - posters, cast, etc. - but retains the Date Added of the older movie.

Ok WOW, I’d never have thought of this trick to solve this but it worked like a charm!
Sorry I also didn’t think about going on reddit but remained in here.

Thanks a lot for searching about it!

Cheers
