Plex Media Server Logs_2020-09-12_11-17-25.zip (4.8 MB)
When playing movies from the Plex app on my PS4 Pro locally, I am finding that if they are using specifically “DTS 5.1” audio (DTS-HD plays fine), the playback continuously skips forward 5-10 seconds about once a second. While the DTS audio has to be transcoded, the issue does not appear to be related to the capabilities of my server as my CPU barely breaks a sweat and other audio formats that are transcoded do NOT suffer the same problem. I can see that when playing the affected files, almost the entirety of my network bandwidth is being used (around 90Mbps).
Below are my server specs:
CPU: Ryzen 5 3400G
RAM: 16GB Corsair DDR4 LPX 2400Mhz
HDD (where the movies are stored): Seagate 8TB
I have tried adjusting settings within the PS4 plex app, such as disabling Dolby Digital Plus, setting max H.264 Level to 5.1/5.2, ensuring direct play and direct stream are enabled, all to no avail.
I have attached server logs which may be helpful, in these logs it should show my replication of the issue at around 11:17am when trying to playback Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban.
If any advice can be provided on how to resolve this it would be really appreciated.
