I have been using PLEX since around 2008 and I am having an issue I cannot seem to fix.
PLEX Media Server has been acting goofy lately so I decided to start from scratch. When I add my movies section PLEX is not getting about 80% of the art and the worst part is there are 2 entries for every movie!
Why is PLEX doing this?
I am running PLEX on the latest MacMini BTO w/every option upgraded to the MAX and a Synology 1815+ w/8 8TB Helium drives. I don’t understand why PLEX is adding the same movie multiple times.
yup. it’s very strange. i have been using PLEX for almost ten years and can usually figure this stuff out. if i don’t receive a response soon from the forums i am just going to erase the Mini and start from scratch. it is totally bizarre.
i have done the fresh start thing by removing the cache and the other files but to no avail. everything was fine and then all of a sudden i get all of this…
Do me a favor. shutdown plex and delete the log files.
copy 5 movies to a new location you can setup as test library
restart plex
create TestMovies pointed to this new location
let it scan
after it finishes create a ZIP form the logs /settings/server/help and upload here or PM them to me with a link back to this thread.
That should give me a clean set of logs to look at without too much extra stuff. Plus only a few movies to have to look at if they double up.
I just did a clean install of PLEX. I erased the drive on the latest version of the MacMini connected to my Synology 1815+ and just downloaded the PMS from the PLEX pass channel and the same thing. What is going on?
There aren’t 2 movies. I rip my movies 1:1 using MakeMKV. I don’t understand why PLEX is doubling my movies all of a sudden.
Can someone please help me figure out what the heck is going on??
Yes, see previous message to your post. We need logs.
Also do me a favor. Click on one of the duplicated movies in web and click the 3 dots then select GET INFO from the list. It should show you the file paths for these two movies.
Are they different or exactly the same? Do they have the same extension as well?
