If I want to move an entire folder of movies into a different folder of movies (so I can use the folder to put all of them into a collection) can I just move the folder in OS X? I see in the forums that copying individual files is preferable. But I’m wondering what happens if I move a whole folder?
Just thought it might be worth mentioning that Plex won’t create collections based on your movies being grouped in the same top-level folder.
Beyond that… If you’re going to move movie files/folders within an existing library around, just make sure you disable Settings > [Server Name] > Library > Automatically empty trash after scans in order to avoid losing the ratings and view history for those movies.
