Moving from Win10 to Linux Mint - Can I copy and restore data directory, or would I have to rescan all library files. I realize the drive designations in library setup would be different, but will I loose all the poster images, descriptions. etc.. and all that data I already have?

Turns out, it’s not that simple. PMS created a new user ‘plex’ when it installed.
‘plex’ cannot see the media on myusb drives since they are ntfs windows created.

So I made a group called ‘mediausers’ and added ‘plex’ and myself to it. The plan was so I can manage the files and Plex can also when deleted via the Plex system.

Well.. not that simple either. Mounting the drives, giving permssions , etc takes about 20 comand lines and to get the settings to work each bootup takes 20 more lines.

Even after all that I am told that Linux has issues.

I have 12 drives .. so imagine

But thanks for trying anyway

This is one of the key reasons that Mint isnt supported, There are a LOT of things Mint does that makes life harder
