moving media library, will retain watched/unwatch if I follow the below?

If I follow the instructions here: https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/201154537-Move-Media-Content-to-a-New-Location to move my media is my watched/unwatched info retained?

Thank you!

It should.

What I do is create that new library folder at the next location.
Copy the old library contents into the new library - COPY the key word here.
Then add that new library folder to the existing library’s folder list.
Plex will whirr and buzz for quite some time as it adds little '2’s to all your movie posters. TV Show posters may not get a 2 - can’t recall. Anyway…
When all the whirring and buzzing stops and you are confident everything has been rediscovered, merged, matched, cleaned and pressed…
you can remove that old library folder from the library’s folder list.
Update library and the whirring and buzzing will set in again, but this time it’ll be really quick.

It seems to work here in the neck of the woods.

thanks for the info. Note that the path to my media will change slightly, at least the root will, necessarily.

Yep, understood. Wouldn’t really be a move otherwise, but the trick is to copy, let Plex find them both and ‘blend’ them, then remove the old.

Your paths and names are going to be different, of course, but just add the new folder. You’ll have two paths, to two folders.

You can have two library folders on different drives. The folder name is academic - they both don’t have to be the same and it’s expected two library folders would have two paths. Not a problem. If both of them temporarily have the same content - that’s what you want. Plex will ‘share’ that old data with the new copies. Then you remove the old library folder.

Thank you! Easy enough!
