Moving my library fom windows plex server to Nvidia shield plex server

Server Version#: 1.41.3.9314
Hello I am looking for some help I have had a plex server running on a windows server, and I had used my Nvidia Shield Pro to watch the content on the server, but as my windows server is getting I decided that I would run a server on the shield , so I copied my library to a new hard drive that is attached to shield, unfortunately it has scanned my tv folder and it only found 6 tv series and some of those are not correct, and one says it has over 200 episodes , I have rescanned the library several times without success.
How can I sort this out
Thanks in advance Chris

Why is some of my content not found?

This usually comes down to permissions or naming and organization.

Please show how you have the files named and organized - directory listing, screenshot, etc. Include the folder added to the Plex TV show library and the file extension (mkv/mp4/etc.).

Make sure you follow Plex naming and organization requirements.

There are tools that can help with renaming. Here’s a shortlist. The free version of Tiny Media Manager works for most people.

Many people use Filebot. It is quite powerful and can rename an entire library in minutes.

Tiny Media Manager is also very useful, and free.

Example TMM Renamer Patterns:

  • Show Name: ${showTitle} (${showYear})
  • Season: Season ${seasonNr2}
  • Episode Name: ${showTitle} (${showYear}) s${seasonNr2}e${episodeNr2} ${episode.title}
  • Movie Name: ${title} (${year}) {imdb-${imdb}}

PowerRenamer in Microsoft Power Tools is helpful for simple renaming with pattern matches or regular expressions. It makes quick work of tasks such as adding a year to file names, removing undesirable text from multiple files, etc

Naming and permissions are your most common causes. FYI I would not recommend using a shield as a server.

Hello dbirch
Why would you not recommend using the shield as a server it usage will only be local

I have experienced something similar today when relocating correctly named files and folders from one drive to another.
I run a QNAP NAS with no local storage, and have been running Plex for almost 10 years. To prepare for upgrading a new drive, I have been copying files and folders from one drive to another. I have prepared this using the usual method of creating the destination folders to be the same as the source folders, and they have been added to the library in advance. For example:
Source X:\TV\A , X:\TV\B …and so on
Destination Z:\TV\A , Z:\TV\B …and so on

Each alphabetic letter is added as a separate scannable folder in the library.

This normally works without issue. Except for today.
I had added all the destination letters (Z:\TV\A\ , Z:\TV\B\ …and so on) into the library as normal.
I started moving the files (using the QNAP tools) as normal, but then I started having very similar issues as nodyalc21 above with one show and 200 episodes.
Imagine my surprise when I looked back at the library folder setup and discovered that instead of a final Z:\TV\Z\ folder it was Z:\TV\
This meant that Plex was scanning all the individual alphabetic folders then redoing them all again from the folder root - and getting everything mixed up.
I removed all the files/folders back to a safe place, then rectified the the Z:\TV\ folder to be Z:\TV\Z\ in the library and rescanned (the now empty destination folders).
Once this was complete, I moved the actual files and folders back into the destination i.e. Z:\TV\A
Plex was now not confused and added the files back in correctly - all the correct shows, season, and episodes in the right place.
Not a single file or folder was renamed, as that wasn’t the issue. My issue was I was scanning the same locations twice - and Plex got confused (as shown in the original commenters post).

I hope my experience can be of some assistance.

Because Shields use android, and while plex will work with them, they have a LOT more issues, cant really deal with media transcodes, and anything more than a very small library tends to cause issues.
