Shield Plex Server - TV Shows ALL under 1 Show

Server Version#: most recent ? ^^
Player Version#:

Yesterday I added a couple of new TV shows to my NAS and when Plex scanned the lib folders it suddenly sorted ALL episodes of ALL Shows under one of the new shows … now it says “The Orville” has got 497 episodes … No other TV series shows up … and it doesn’t seem that a rescan fixes the problem.

What’s wrong and how can I fix it ???

Sounds like you got some mix-up with your file organization / naming or what folder(s) you’ve added to your library.

Make sure to follow the naming schema as listed in the related support article.
Make sure to stick to the folder structure – don’t add extra layers of folders.
Make sure to point your library to the library folder – don’t add show folders individually to your library.

I use a tool called FileBot (you can get it on Windows Store) to move and rename files automatically - they always end up in the correct folder, just like your link suggests.

Can you share an example incl. which folder from that example is linked to your Plex Media Library in > Manage Library > Edit...Add Folder?

i actually took a closer look into my folders and discovered, that it was Media\TV Shows\TV Shows\The Orville - all other shows where in Media\TV Shows.…

Maybe that was the issue. ATM the server is scanning the lib files - will report back when it’s finished.

Everthing in working order again!

Thanks again for pointing out what might be with my server - you were spot on!
