I have to respectfully disagree with the above statement… While one OS might be better at doing certain things over another, all you are really trying to accomplish here is moving some files (mainly the databases) to a new system, put them in the proper places, with the corrected path to the stored media, and preferably without having to manually editing the databases… Nothing more and nothing less and I know you can easily do that with Windows as well as Linux… As a last resort, you can try to manually edit a COPY of your database following instructions here
