Moving Plex DB from Windows to Synology NAS?

Is this even possible? I have recently set up Plex on my new DS220j Synology, and am having issues with Plex renaming and organizing songs in my library different than it did on the Windows side.

The Windows side the Music Library was on my WD MyCloud NAS, and with the new Synology, I figured I would move it all local to the DS220j, so I did a drag and drop copy. Nothing else is different. Folder structure is identical, etc. Yet on the Synology I am having to rename and re-organize a ton of tracks for some reason.

Is it possible to just move the database since folder structure is the same on the Synology?

I’m just glad I didn’t go ahead and blow away everything from the MyCloud side away yet! The goal is to eventually do that, so I can use the MyCloud for other things.

Thanks!

I had zero naming issues with the Windows side, I never touched or renamed anything in the year+ of running it that way. So naturally when I copied everything over, I expected to only have to rebuild my playlists, but in doing that, I noticed the album/artist art is sometimes different with Synology, and it took a ton of tracks and just put them in “Various Artists” which I don’t even have on the Windows side.

If the naming wasn’t an issue on the Windows side, why is it now an issue on the Synology?

Ok, well I don’t name or tag anything… I buy all my music (from the same source), so I haven’t even messed with nor touched that. My Music is already following that path structure, as I made sure that was in place when I started on Windows.

I guess I will go through the meta for the tracks in question.

Thanks.
