If you follow the procedure as written, all your watch history will be preserved.

The key points in the procedure are:

  1. Turn off all Library settings before shutting down Plex and making the ZIP file
  2. Unzip into the “Plex” shared folder on DSM 7 for pending import
  3. Set the permissions
  4. Uninstall + Erase any DSM 7 Plex app installed (if you want the imported version used)
  5. Install and let it ‘migrate’ (import) the contents of Plex share
  6. After install complete, ADD the new locations to each section and let Plex scan (this is what preserves the watch status)
  7. AFTER scanning complete – REMOVE the old locations
  8. Empty Trash & Clean bundles
  9. REPEAT for the next library section until done.
