Moving Plex from one pc to another

Hi, the laptop that had my Plex Media Server on it has crashed, cant read the SSD.
Sent in to be inspected/repaired/recovered, so I have no access to it right now.

Installed Plex Media Server on another laptop, signed in and its created a new media server name and says the old media server is offline.

Is there anyway I can tell new media server that it must be the old media server?

All libraries were pointing to G: (Google Drive), same as on the new laptop

Not without the old laptop. There are some settings in the Windows registry that would identify the server. You need to copy that over to the new laptop for the server to be considered the same.

Thanks very much for the explanation. Hopefully they can recover the drive so I don’t have to start from scratch :wink:
