Why are the ratings for MP3 files not imported to Plex? When viewed in Windows Explorer, the ratings are present, but do not seem to be importing to my Plex library. Is this a bug, required enhancement, or user error?

This is a key feature for me to begin using Plex for music. Th eonly solution I have found is to import my library into iTunes using MusicBridge, then import the library from iTunes into Plex.
I would much prefer pulling the MP3 data directly and reading the playlists from the Windows library. I own a thousand CDs that I have pulled in and assigned ratings and uniform genres. I use playlist rules (four-plus stars on each genre) so when I add new music it automatically gets added to the correct playlists.
It would be a huge help is the ratings would come in, even if I then had to put the playlists together myself.

Considering the size of my music DB and the fact, I update my PC every few year, I need a solution which enables me to keep my ratings after such a change. This is the reason why I have added the rating information in the source mp3 musical files. This way, if I need to recreate a meta DB like Plex the effort is greatly reduces.
So my question is , what is Plex proposing to address this requirement ? I see only 2 ways of doing this. First, import the mp3 rating which seems to me the best solution. A second option would be to have an export utility in Plex that would enable a user to maintain the meta data from the Plex DB when a library is moved to another media server due to a PC change.

I am also looking for a way to import the ratings from the mp3 files and find it very frustrating that such a basic function is not supported by plex. This is quite annoying 
Does anyone know a user/community-written metadata agent that supports import of mp3 ratings?

I’m struggling with the same issue. Plex should have an option to update music file ratings or at least backup functionality built into the app that allows you to pick what/where you want to backup. I just did the command-line backup (QNAP NAS) and the backup was 50 gig. If Plex updated the individual music files or was stored in PlexPass accounts a Plex server rebuild would be much less painful.
I’m also looking for a way to Import & Export the music ratings! I’m more concerned with exporting it as I’d like a way to back up these ratings. I spend all this time rating music, I don’t want to loose them and don’t have the $$$$ to buy a server with multiple hard drives. I do have my music backed up to onedrive, but if I don’t put music in the exact same location, then all my ratings are gone.
There has to be an easier way.
