I have a few MP4 video files I got via Video Download Helper in FireFox. They play perfectly under Windows 7 (via VLC), but Plex does not show them at all. It is not that they show up as incompatible - they don’t show up at all. When I connect to Plex via my PS3 or TiVo, I see everything else except for the .MP4 video files. The same thing via the web GUI.
Via Google searches I gather that Plex does not know how to play certain types of MP4 video files, but my symptoms seem different from what I research. Is this the problem?
Sometime recently I lost the ability to play or view some music videos I have had in Plex for months. They always worked well but now they return ‘Unavailable’. I tried to edit the libraries but the files, though they have not been moved or changed in any way, are no longer seen by Plex. They are all in MP4 format.

What has changed and how do I fix it?
Thanks
Would need debug server log to see why but this is unrelated to video files not being seen and you should raise a separate forum topic. Please see the reporting issues with plex media server support page re debug logs and how to go about to get the information. Link in my signature - also on the support portal at http://support.plex.tv

I posted a new topic in the Mac forum. I believe I have attached the log file. I have no idea how to link your signature. Sorry. I’m trying.
What I meant is that my signature has a link to the report issues support page as I could not easily paste a link for you whilst being on phone. Managed to paste it here now
I’m also seeing this issue, Plex is on Windows 10 workstation it doesn’t see the file when it’s in the root of the server. If I make a folder with the same name and copy the .mp4 into the folder it sees files in the library.
