I am able to playback live tv streams and in progress recordings fine using the avplayer, but when the recording is complete playback fails. It doesn’t play unless I change the setting to automatically convert. I prefer the avplayer because the mpv player has too many issues. I just don’t understand why playback is fine before the recording is complete.

I tried the same recordings using the native player in Emby, and they all played fine. The container was transcoded mpegts to hls so why isn’t Plex doing the same thing?
Is there anything in the Apple TV profile I can change to get this working?
Can anyone look into this? Disabling direct play makes it work. Seems to me plex should automatically remix the video to another container.
