Multiple different movie files listed under the same movie within Plex. Not identified as duplicates

The title explains it pretty well.

The Godfather 1 through 3 are all listed under the same movie, The Godfather 2. They are not identified as duplicates so I can’t split them.

I currently have 361 movies on my drive but Plex only recognizes 355 unique ones meaning 6 movies are not identified as unique movies.

I’m new to Plex and just set all of this up a couple days ago because of a recommendation to use the service but I’ve had tons of issues with mismatched files and false duplicates even though I have all files named correctly according to their release titles.

Thanks for any help because it sure is needed.

Your file names must not end in Part 1 in Part 2 or Part 3
Because if they do, then this Plex feature will activate: https://support.plex.tv/articles/200264966-naming-multi-file-movies/

Add the release years of those movies in parentheses as last part of the file name
and all will be A-OK.
Look up the proper titles and release years on the IMDb.
