Multiple epg sources, for those with multiple tuners

Add my vote too, as having just paid for the HDHomeRun Premium TV to find out its useless without the guide. I currently have 2 Extend tuners and added an old Connect just to use for the Premium service.

Definitely need this feature with my mix of 2 Primes and 1 Quatro!

+1 here as well. EPG for me in buff suburbs is not complete

Still haven’t won our request…
I am just waiting for the New HDHomerun Prime to launch, then I will get it, and a Connect Quad (retiring the old Prime for now), which will give me 12 tuners-half ota, half cable, and possibly 15 if I later add a second cable card… (I also have a old HDHomerun Dual). The HDHomerun Dual is why I stated by tuner as a option, as, the Dual has 2 separate antenna connectors, so you could have antennas aimed at different towers…, or sources…
I also just got another rack, and will be recasing my plex server, for better graphics card compatibility, in hopes of increasing it’s transcoding (for recording, streaming, and converting format).
@jmcnal1 The New HDHomerun Prime (hdhr5-6cc) should be launching any time, if you get one of those, you could have the same amount of tuners, as both the old primes you have now…
@clendaniel even if they don’t do it by tuner, you could get a second HDHR Connect/Extend, and divide by box, IF they implement the requested change… I know it kinda sucks, when you already get it on your single tuner…

Hmm, Perhaps…,
Perhaps, a ā€œadvanced optionsā€ for the dvr tuner setup, would allow you to manually select channels from multiple epg’s to map to a single tuner/box…
This way, those with a single antenna, that pulls in multiple locals, could then give the dvr the power to tune like their tv…
This could also solve the HDHomerun Premium issue, as you could manually add the Premium Channels to the ota box… Perhaps, this could be a option to automatically add the Premium channels, since this is a ā€œmanufacturer added subscription featureā€ which isn’t ā€œregion specificā€ (unlike the cable companies or ota)… This way, the less adept could simply check a box that indicates they have HDHomerun Premium Service, and it simply adds the list of channels, and the proper guide entries to their dvr.

Come on folks, we need Your Votes (top of the thread), we few are not the only ones who would benefit. And now with HDHomerun Premium Tv Service, providing cable channels over the internet to OTA boxes, it would be real handy to get your use from those extra channels your Paying for…

I think this would be a good addition

14th spot per votes according to https://forums.plex.tv/c/general/feature-suggestions/l/votes
keep em coming, and hopefully they’ll get this implemented sooner!!!

Also having multiple epg with even one tuner (border regions).

I agree with all who says this would be a great feature to add. I would also like to add to this…please make it easier to map channels. For example, if there is a duplicate channel mapping, it would be good if there was a message saying which channels were duplicates.

+1 Would love to see some feedback from Plex on this request. It definitely gets my vote too. It is the feature I need the most. I too purchased the HDHomeRun Premium TV service. I live in the eastern time zone so there is a significant number of channels the DVR function is unusable with because the local cable company I have to map obviously has all eastern time EPG.

Plus, because I now have to map as the cable providers guide I am missing OTA channels I want. So if we can’t use multiple EPG’s can you guys at least add HDHomerun Premium Channels to all OTA EPG lists so that we could get proper time zones.

Any news on this? I have 2 tuners. One has Paid DVB-T and annother one is the regular free DVB-T, both have different channels. It would be great to have this working.

It gets even worse if you have a Satelite Receiver (Using Tvheadend) and you want to have multiple countries at the same time.

Add me to that group that wants multiple EPG. I have three HDHomerun tuners connected to three antennas pointed at separate markets - Chicago, Rockford/Madison and Milwaukee plus have just added the HDHomerun Premium Channels. I have found that they all play nicely with Channels, but that is just another layer of expense.

Please, please, please… I just got a hdhomerun with premium and many of my OTA locals aren’t on the local Cable EPG (and even a few of the cable channels).

Voted for this and replied in another thread discussing similar issues. Definitely want more customization in the EPG (OTA+cable+IP/Hdhomerun Premium).

Voted, this would be an amazing improvement for us all!

Just realized (after a PMS rebuild) that using XMLTV from zap2it or TVGuilde can’t reproduce the same results as the built in guide when it comes to recording sports. I was setup to record the ā€œGreen Bay Packersā€ when ever it came on, and couldn’t do that with XMLTV guide. XLMTV doesn’t use episode identifiers so no way to pick a team to record. Was able to use XMLTV to record series episodes from traditional shows that use S1 E1 format.

This feature is absolutely essential. Please make this happen.

How can you see a list of voted features? would love to see how high up this is? surprised only 140ish votes as who these days has only one tuner source?
