Hey Everyone,
I clean installed 1.9.3 today on my test server to try setting up recordings with a HDHomeRun Prime and Connect simultaneously. Even with the update, I am still having issues with the Plex trying to use the Prime to record channels that are only enabled on the Connect. Any suggestions?
I have the Prime using a cablecard with 6 channels enabled (the only non-DRM from my provider). The Connect is setup using the same line-up for guide data and has 30+ channels mapped from QAM OTA. I set Plex to record multiple shows on the Connect, but DVR shows that the Prime has 1 recording now, even though the actual Prime box shows nothing recording.
Are you aware that the Plex FAQ notes you can only use one type of tuner either cable or OTA. You can have more than one tuner however.
I did not see that, thanks. I figured since it is using the same channel guide listings, with only certain channels turned on for each tuner, that it would tune correctly to the appropriate tuner.

I have 4 connects and 2 Primes allocated to plex … I simply mapped the channels in the connect to the Prime channels. I disabled the OTA Channels on my Primes … enabled them on my 4 connects.

Are you using the Primes for QAM or cablecard?

Cable card …
Based on that photo, it looks like QAM channels mapped to guide data from another channel line-up. Is that a screenshot of the prime or connect?
the ones with channels 2.1 2.2 etc… are the connects. Yes the OTA channels are mapped to my Comcast Lineup. Plex does not support multiple lineups but it supports diff tuners as long as the channels are mapped to the one lineup.

Do you have the same channels enabled on the Connects as the Primes? For me, the channels enabled between my prime and connect are completely different.
The reason why I only use the connects for channels I can get VIA OTA is that Comcast compresses everything in my area to 1280x720P … and that sucks for watching football.

I disabled them on the Prime because they are only 1280x720P … you do not have to disable them since I have 4 connects in my household we disable them in the primes. Mapping took a while but you can map the OTA Broadcast channels to the Cable guide equivalent… Just make sure to setup the primes first.
I LIKE IT!!!
FOX is flagged as DRM on my Prime channel scan so I’ve been wanting to see if I could get around this by using over the air. Ideally I would love to find something that cripples the DRM. : )
