Multiple issues

I’ve had PMS for a long time with no issues until the recent “Modern Layout” update. It worked for a few days after that but now is not working at all and there are so many issues with different solutions that I don’t know where to start.

  1. I recently changed my ISP and modem but that was a month ago and it’s been working for that month of time using the new modem

  2. There may have been a Windows update. How do I check that?

  3. PMS will not update. It’s on version 1.23.4.4805 and the “checking for updates” is inactive and will not let me click it.

  4. When I boot up my computer (Windows 10) it opens PMS in the system tray but in less than a minute the icon disappears from the system tray.

Can you manually update your PMS to check if that’ll overcome the automatic updates getting stuck (for future updates)?

If that doesn’t resolve the server from disappearing… can you share the server logs from your system?

I’m willing to try the manual update, but how do I do that? If you could instruct or give a link please.

I’ve downloaded the server log, it’s safe to upload it here in this post?

  1. stop the installed PMS
  2. download the Windows version of PMS from Media Server Downloads | Plex Media Server for Windows, Mac, Linux, FreeBSD and More
  3. run the installer

I downloaded the installer and ran it. It seems like everything is working now. Thanks. That was the first problem in almost 5 years.
