Multiple listings for same actor! Movies not even trying to Match

Every time I add a Blu-ray rip it does not even try to match

Plex Documentation → Your Media → Naming and Organizing Your Movie Files.

Please show how you are naming and organizing your movies. Please show the full path to the file and which folder is added to the library.

If you follow Plex guidelines the movies will match 95+% of the time (if not more). You can add the IMDB/TMDB ID to the folder & file name which basically ensures a match.

So then I search for the actor and it will list the actor twice

Plex is creating new/duplicate Tags for Directors and Actors that are already in my server

This is an expected side-effect of fixing a very old bug where we could not discern people with the same name and would always overwrite their data with the latest data from the most recently refreshed item. We now store people uniquely when adding new items or refreshing old items, but this won’t fix existing items until they are refreshed. We have also added checks that run at PMS startup and when running a database optimize that will correct duplicate items, so these things should self-corre…
