I have two 4k roku tvs using built in speakers and hard wired through ethernet, fully up to date (plex server is up to date as well)
All of a sudden certain files will either play only when direct play is forced, or will play with an error about no audio found and will play at original quality with no sound
I’m running on the same server I built several years ago but just started having this issue. I prefer to use original quality at home anyway but my kids’ TV sometimes has to transcode 4k down to 1080 so it’s another headache there as well. But mainly I don’t understand why even 1080p files will not transcode on the 4k tvs or will play fine with no audio?
I have to force direct play for a lot of these files period, but again, even then it doesn’t play audio for certain ones (especially types of 5.1)
The same files play just fine on my phone and computers
