Multiple Sections for Movies!?

I have posted here in some other threads and so far I have not found an answer on this.

I have a Library that contains several Sections (Drama,Comedy,Cartoons, etc) Each Section holds between 10-80 movies. Totaling all movies is about 375. I also have a TV-Show Section which holds about 1000+ 1 hour episodes! When running .35 everything scans fine and play's back fine. But when I try to go to .36 or .37 it hangs on scanning all my content around 75%.

So far I have not seen anybody here that has more then 1 movie section!?

Which seems a bit odd to me. It looks like somewhere with the addition of HD-artwork something broke.

I have Flashed my SD card multiple times (even tried different cards) and the result is the same no matter what I do. Like I mentioned before the .35 release caches fine.

Are any of the dev's aware of this?

I have 5 movie sections totaling over 1400 individual titles, plus an equivalent quantity of TV shows - I am having no issues with scanning in Rasplex .37, Ironically I had issues similar to what you describe in .35!  Changing the skin made a huge difference in performance with a large library as well, but it needs to have been scanned first regardless.

What seems broken for me now is GPIO IR - I can't  seem to get that working no matter what even with a fresh install. Anyhow - will open a separate thread for that, but but just fyi your scanning issue is not universal.

Props to the Devs - Rasplex is coming of age quickly.

Interesting! I have tried it now several times and it seems to hang around the 6th or 7th section after which it just seems to stop scanning and eventually becomes completely locked up.

Here are some screen shots of what happens when I try to browse after it stops scanning

the top right picture sounds familiar, seems that with the last OE merge the framebuffer isn't cleared when pht is killed. we hopefully should have that fixed soon.

Regarding the other pictures it looks very strange .. never seen that happen.

Yeah I never seen that either. I can replicate it 100% though.

Either way I think you guys are doing a great job! And I am well aware how hard it is to get a project like this off the ground with out  proper funding. I am looking forward to new releases and will keep testing it .

Could you check the memory usage when you are running into that situation.

You can have it using "top" command from SSH.

I am wondering if it wouldn't be a memory issue when using big libraries.

That was my initial thought but there seems to be a lot of people here with larger libraries and no problems. The only other variable I can see is that I have more "Sections" then most people. When I have some time I will try and re-flash to .37 and run a top command while it is scanning my library.

Cool, thanks, any testing you can make to locate what the issue could come from will help us to look & fix it ;)
