Multiple Servers in Settings.cfg

Is it possible to manually list multiple servers in the settings.cfg file? I've been able to switch between multiple servers detected by GDM through Settings in the Trailers app on my AppleTV, but I can't figure out how to manually specify more than one server in the settings.cfg file to allow me to choose between them on the AppleTV. This may be because it isn't possible. :)

I've been able to manually specify a remote server in settings.cfg by entering the IP address for "ip_pms" and entering "False" for "enable_plexgdm", and it works great. What I'd like to do is enter both my remote and local servers so I can switch between them without having to edit settings.cfg.

I realize this will all be mostly moot once myPlex support is enabled, but until then this would be a nice work-around. And it may be useful even after myPlex support is around.

Thanks in advance!

As far as i know at this time you must change your dns from one to another pms.

Thanks for the response. I figured at this time I would have to do it manually (easiest way is to just leave the IP address set for the "ip_pms" setting and change the "enable_plexgdm" setting between "False" and "True" depending on which server I want to access). Figured it didn't hurt to ask since it would be nice to be able to replicate the multiple server support that's available via GDM detection.

For the time being why not just do it from your apple tv by pointing it from one plexconnect to another? Maybe use your router with plexconnect installed on it then point your atv from your machine to the router by going from manual to automatic to switch plexconnect instances. For your remote server how are you setting that up so you can view an outside plex media server exactly?

So, I have one PlexConnect instance running on my iMac. I have a Plex Media Server running on the iMac too. PlexConnect will find the local server just fine with "enable_plexgdm" set to "True".

For the remote server, I've set it up so that my local network is allowed without auth in the PMS settings. I then put the remote server's IP for the "ip_pms" setting and set "enable_plexgdm" to "False" on PlexConnect on my iMac and it will connect my remote server to my AppleTV. Very straight forward.

I'm not sure how changing the DNS and using multiple PlexConnect instances is necessarily any easier than simply updating the settings.cfg file when I want to switch, although I guess I could do it from the AppleTV.

Thanks for your suggestions. I'll just patiently wait for myPlex support, which will make this moot.

No problem just trying to make it easier so you dont have to go back and forth from the atv to your pc everytime possibly. Thanks for the info as well, if I get my ddwrt router working and need a remote pms I will use your info.
