So this morning i was tinkering and i still had the “Scanner” “Plex Personal Media” and the agent options “Plex Personal Media Artist/Album” and “Last.FM”.
Now the Scanner option is completely gone, and those agent options are gone too.
I only have “Plex Music” and “Plex Personal Media” as agent options.
The “Plex Personal Media Artist” option worked best for me and actually sorted the things out in the proper albums and everything was correct. the Plex music and regular personal media agent just bunch everything up and mess everything up.
How can i get that Scanner option and those agent options back again?
I dont even need the LastFM one.
I just need to use all the local Metadata rather than the plex music metadata.
With the Plex Personal Media Artist agent, it worked perfectly.
The “Plex Personal Media” agent is the direct replacement for this and should have similar behaviour.
The recommended option is to use “Plex Music” as the agent and then enable “Prefer local metadata” as well as setting Genres to “Embedded Tags” to prioritise your local tags.
These agents. Both the suggetions you made, they bunch all my artists together into one (in different ways).
The Plex Personal Media agent just creates one album with “various artists” and plex Music creates these kind of artists as example: “Beatles;Stones” which the agent i mentioned didnt do. That agent only took the first artist. As a result, it also doent add the cover art which is embedded in the file, to the albums/tracks.
So i would need to remove all the featuring artists manually now from every file.?
Why would you phase out something that works better than what you replace it with, i dont really get it.
EDIT: or which seperator should i use in the artist and album artist tags to support multiple artists? (rather than making 1 artist out of 2). example “;” or “/” or ", "
I dont use any folder paths. since i dont have albums as such, its more of a playlist of songs i put in.
Which worked fine before. Also i can somewhat get it to work, by indeed removing the multiple album artists. But then it still doesnt take the cover images, because plex music cant match it to whatever database it uses. it seems to just NOT use the local stored image in the file itself. eventhough i have prefer local metadata and Local files only ticked…
It should. Just remember that these images will only apply to the album, there is no embedded image for artists and for that you would have to use a local image asset.
Feel free to dm me some examples as it’s difficult for me to understand exactly what the expected behaviour is.
