Music Album is split into 2

Hey all,

 

I have a music album I ripped myself and tagged using music brainz. but for some reason plex thinks track 1 - 5 are a different album to tracks 6 -15.

 

So I end up with 2 albums named exactly the same and pointing to the same folder.

 

the artist is "falling in reverse" the album is "Fashionably Late"

 

plex server Version 0.9.12.3

 

Its annoying the crap out of me

Yes I have this exact same problem, Micheal Jackson History album for one gets split into to two different folders in the view.  Other albums which have 3 disk all link as one album ok.  Seems that any "Delux" album version with extra songs also gets split into two.

To get a fix for this would be great!

Two albums created from one

Are you ripping directly into a folder which is being “watched” by Plex? Don’t. Always rip all tracks, rename them, check metadata in a separate folder, outside of a Plex library. Only after, that move the complete album folder into a Plex library. In order for Plex to recognise a bunch of tracks as belonging to the same album, you need to: put all tracks into the same folder give all tracks identical content in the ‘AlbumArtist’ and ‘AlbumTitle’ metatags. I get this issue from time to time on a random album. A quick fix that has worked for me is to copy/paste the album title and artist title from a track in one of the splits to the tracks in the other split and save. Then rescan the library. Even when the titles appear to be the same doing this has resolved the issue for me.
