Music Album Marked As Played

Server Version#: FreeNAS-11.2-U8
Player Version#: 4.30.2

Hopefully I’m in the right area and if this was asked before I guess my searching skills are not up to par. Anyways, for the longest time I have been using Google Play Music for my music streaming needs but I believe they changed something recently and I cannot change mismatched tracks on the fly. Google currently sees if there is a similar track on their server and place that instead. This causes a lot of my tracks to be heavily edited,

With all that being said I decided to use Plex for my music streaming needs and I was trying to find a way to mark albums as played because I heard them through Google Play Music but there was no such option, unless I’m missing something.

Any help would be greatly apprecaited.

I don’t believe albums or songs work this way. They don’t have a played/unplayed status. The server will keep record of when songs are played, however.

Can you elaborate on why you need this?

I have over 700 albums and I am going through them 1 by 1 starting with album titles (I’m currently up to albums that begin with F). The way Google Play Music ordered them is not exactly the way Plex orders them.

The main reason why I would like this is I want to verify when I ripped my CDs onto my server they properly ripped there were no skips or cuts. I’m going through each and everyone of my albums.

I just think it would be a convenient way of knowing if I listened to the album or not, just like if I watched a movie or not.

Okay, well, this can be done. It won’t be as easy as a simple glance like under movies or TV shows, but if you click the three dots on an album, you can select play history. It will show a list of plays for that album.

But without listening to the album again is there a way to mark them played?

Oh, I thought you were listening to them. Sorry for misunderstanding.

As far as I know, there is not a way to mark albums or songs as played without listening to them. Perhaps you could make a spreadsheet or something to reference back to as you migrate your music? Or maybe someone with a little more know-how than me will come along and give you a better answer.
