Music Albums Not Showing After Folder Changes

Hello, this is driving me mad. I have spent a couple of hours looking this up and trying, checking everything. I purchased some new higher quality versions of some albums and removed the old ones on my local computer, then updated the music folders on my NAS (Synology) and the albums won’t show up. The folder name is different and the album name is different (both meta and folder).

The file structure is no different than the albums that are showing up.

What else can I do to get the library to update and see these albums? Start over? 70K songs, not ideal.

When Plex can’t find media on my Linux box, it’s almost always a permissions issue. Make sure the permissions on the new media is the same as the ones that Plex sees.

Hi beckfield, this is good advice. I will continue to look into that.

There were 2 other albums added at the same time and both are indexed properly. Why 2 of the 4 news folders added worked is strange to me.

I’d like to check the permissions on all the files then. Maybe there are other files too.

The mystery will go unsolved. I changed the folder names and re-uploaded to the NAS and they all indexed.

Very strange.
