Music Features: Bitrate settings and preloading

Plex Music is getting much better, but there are a few features that keep me using Subsonic over Plex for all of my music. If these couple things could be added I think it would make the music experience much better.

  • Streaming bitrate
  • Adaptive streaming bitrate
  • Playlist preloading

Essentially, like a lot of other people, I keep my music library in very high quality formats. When I’m on the road, sometimes the signal isn’t that strong and I get a lot of skips and issues with playback. In subsonic I have it set to transcode everything to 128-160kbps so that I can stream without issues. Obviously the quality is lower, but at least my music plays back with issues. I know I could sync the music, but 90% of the time I just hit shuffle all (thanks for adding this into the new iOS app, it really made me happy). I also have it set to cache the next 10 songs in the playlist. This helps for when I lose signal, the app it able to continue playback until signal is regained.

I agree with this post.
I want some way to cache the music that I listen to on Plex so that in times without a connection I still have my favorite songs.

Where is the setting to precache 10 Songs i can’t find it on the Android-App Settings?

@beni1000 There currently are not settings for this. This post is more of a feature request.

Is there somewhere to ‘vote’ for these options? There was a different thread a while back about it (more specifically for Android) however I’ve lost track of that one. These would be fantastic updates to an already great experience on Plex.

Edit: Aha! found the other thread: https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/comment/941325/#Comment_941325

Okey so we have to wait
