Music Files Not Sorting Correctly By Albulm Name

I am having issues with Music files being organized/sorted by Album Name. I have gone into the Library, Selected ‘Media Library’ > ‘Edit’ > ’ Advanced’, then made sure that the Album sorting is ‘By name’.

I have a folder/drive called Live Music and I edit all the files Medadata using Mp3Tag v3.27a. The ‘Artist’ is the same for all files and the ‘Album’ format is allways the same. As an example:

1989-12-08 - Great Western Forum ~ Inglewood, California

The Year or Date is the date of the preformance listed in the Album Name and the Album Artist is the Same as the Artist.

Still I have files showing up in PLEX complety out of order. Some in the same year and some not. I have even goin as far as editied the files in PLEX to make sure everthing is correct and that the sorting parameters are the same and still it does not sort properly. Any suggestions?

There is a separate meta tag for “release date”. I propose you use that to store the date of the concert.
