It appears that during a routine scan of my music library, Plex got stuck and stopped responding. I exited the app and re-logged in, but afterward, it seemed to lose track of approximately 50% or more of my music files.
It looks like the database may have been corrupted in the process. My “Date Added” data is now missing, and many releases have incorrect or missing metadata, requiring manual rematching.
I have a backup of the Plex database from a couple of weeks ago. Would restoring from that be the best approach to recover the lost data, or is there a better method you would recommend?
Additionally, are there any steps I can take to prevent this issue in the future? For context, my server has been acting erratically lately and has experienced several unexpected hard restarts.
