The implementation of music album sorting by release type in PMS is a welcome addition. There does, however, need to be a way to “force” a release type within the Plex Web interface (ie - a dropdown/textarea within the General tab of the album’s info, or similar), so I can force an album to categorize as, say, “Soundtrack” or “Live” without having to edit the file in MusicBrainz or tag editor.
I’ve attempted to edit the files in MusicBrainz, but it a) requires a meta refresh after the editing for the changes to be recognized, b) seems to be randomly reset at times, and c) doesn’t always seem to work reliably (totally admitting this last one could be user error… but all the more reason we need a user-friendly widget in the interface to handle this).
