Two suggestions for music management // mod: "Detail View" for artists

I recently notice that PLEX has begun to distinguish between album categories, such as single, EP, live albums, soundtracks and so on.
PLEX will only classify after matching the music information.
This optimization is good, but it also has disadvantages.

For example:

  1. When PLEX does not match the music information or the matched music information is wrong, we cannot modify it.

  2. The detail view mode cannot be used for EP, single or other type of albums .

  3. Albums under other categories will display the aritst and album name, rather than like the ordinary album which display the album name and release date. The albums are arranged according to the release date, if the release date is not displayed, the sorting will be chaotic.

If you want to make PLEX search and identification by establishing a strict folder structure or file name naming method, it is obviously more demanding and troublesome for ordinary users.
Therefore, I suggest whether you can add the option of album type in the album information editing interface, or classify by identifying an Mp3tag.

For example, add “Album type” in Tags, you can provide some regular options for us to choose, or let us input by ourselves.

The second suggestion is:
In the library browsing interface, there is no detailed view mode.
I remember this mode existed before.
This view mode is very useful to me.
Because if some artists do not have a detailed introduction and some artists do, if there is a detailed view mode, I can quickly find the artist who without detailed information and edit it.

There is an existing request for your first suggestion. Rather than splitting votes over multiple threads, it’s best to add your vote/comments there:

Thank you for your reminder. I really didn’t find a relevant topic before posting, because I didn’t know about MusicBrainz. After reading the following post, I temporarily disabled this function.
