Don’t think it’ll make any difference. Plex uses ffmpeg to extract the tag information. The bug is in ffmpeg so same problem.
If ID3v2.4 is your requirement then I guess you will need to wait until plex release their own workaround as stated → Only one embedded genre tag being read - #49 by drzoidberg33
