I’m not sure if I’m doing something wrong, or if this is just a limitation of Plex. I have artists in a particular collection with albums in different genres. Each album is coded to a single genre so this is not further complicated by albums coded to multiple genres. So for instance an artist may have albums in “genre 1” and other albums in “genre 2”. When I am looking at the artists and I sort by “genre 1” then I only see artists who have albums coded as “genre 1”. So far so good. However when I click on the artist, instead of seeing only the albums they have in “genre 1” (the logical thing one would expect to see), I instead see ALL albums from that artist. Essentially my feeling is that the “filtering by genre” doesn’t serve any purpose if once you get to “album” level under an artist you see ALL of their albums. When I sort by “genre 1” I want to see all artists that have albums coded to that genre, which does happen. But then when I click on the artist themselves I only want to see their albums that are coded to that specific genre, not all of their albums. I hope that I am making myself clear here. Am I doing something wrong? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
