Music Library: Album limit of 400 tracks on Plex but not Plexamp?

Server Version#: 1.32.8.7639-7000 Synology
Player Version#: 1.84.1.4069-ff740b6d

So I’ve added a big CD collection to my library today. The collection consists of 20 x 2 CDs with 20 songs each. That totals to 800 songs. Since it’s a box set I’ve put them all in one digital album and called it a day.

But it seems that there might be a track limit on albums where lists are cut off at 400 songs when you open an album on the Plex app (macOS and web app). If you scroll to the very bottom it won’t load the rest of the songs like in playlists. I then opened the album on the Plexamp app (macOS and iOS) and it showed all 800 songs as expected. However, from song 401 onwards it always showed “0:00” as the length of the song although they played just fine and the song length was correctly displayed in the “currently playing” overlay. So in addition there might also be a problem with reading the details of a song when exceeding the limit of 400.

So, I’m going to split the CDs up into 20 separate albums again to avoid this in the meantime. But I guess it would be nice if this could be fixed.

I can confirm the issue. Albeit it only seems to affect the hosted web app and the native desktop players (which are borrowing the web app’s interface).
You can avoid it by using the local web app or the Android mobile player or Plexamp.

I will submit this to the developers.

Maybe?

Very likely.

Fix is making it’s way through release pipeline now. Expect it to be included in the next Web release with a note similar to “Fixed track count limit on album page”.
