Music Library: Albums with mutliple CDs completlely messed up

While running without problems for a long time, suddenly all the albums in the music library consisting of multiple CDs are completely mixed up. All titles with a same track number are listed underneath with the identical metadata of one of the tracks (although different tracks) and are not clustered by CD number. The metadata saved within the files is intact and correct, but Plex has messed up the library. Is this an known issue?

The music scanner has been messed up for months. I’ve just accepted it as it seems helpless.
