Music Library Directory Limit?

Server Version#: 1.40.0.7998
Player Version#: 4.125.1

I have a Complete Collection of AC/DC that is 27 discs. When I add to my plex server, it mis-matches, which is fine, I just un-match it. When I leave it un-matched, when I browse the album it only shows 22 discs and not the whole 27.

Is there a limit?

Am I missing something?

TIA!

Plex doesn’t do “collections” or “box sets” as such. It can only do albums.
You can decide to either split the box set into its albums
or keep the whole box set as one large album.

Depending on how you decide to handle it, you’ll need to adapt the folder organization and the embedded meta tags of your files.

Keep in mind that Plex has no support for “disc titles”, so if you want to keep it as one whole album, you will have to use one common Album Title for all discs.

It is classified as one album according to MusicBrainz, Amazon Music (where I purchased) and Apple Music. Is there a way to utilizes the internal tags just for one album in the music library and continue to use matches for everything else?

If you unmatch it, it will fall back to embedded meta tags.

You could also embed the actual Musicbrainz ID, thus hinting at the correct match.

However, I’d verify that these tags are indeed in pristine condition.
Particularly that there are disc numbers tagged and that the album title is indeed identical across all discs. And I mean really identical – not that it has different appendixes on each disc.

Thank you for all the help and information. I will play with it a bit more. One question, what tag would be represented for the Musicbrainz ID? Is it just titled that and then use the ID number in the field?

Thanks again.

So I added just the Musicbranz ID and made sure all items are the same across the whole set

24.02.29-10.58.01-Tagscan

When I add to Plex and scan the library I get the following:

24.02.29-10.58.57-msedge

If I unmatch, I get the following:

24.02.29-11.03.42-msedge

Then I finally merged them all and now I have a single entity.

24.02.29-11.08.12-msedge

Thanks again!
