In my music library, some of my artist icons have a trash can icon overlayed. It doesn’t seem to function as any sort of link, and no info is provided as to why it is there… I’m confused! What does this mean?
Which means that in any if this artists albums there are some tracks unavailable.
Did you recently rename some song’s files or folders or switched out some files (maybe for better quality etc)?
If you are sure that all your music files are still readable, you can empty the library trash. The trashcan will then go away.

I made some moves of entire library folders, but nothing was changed inside them. I’ll empty that trash and see if that helps! thanks
A combination of emptying the trash and cleaning bundles seemed to do the trick. Thanks!
