I am curious about what is the most used workflow when it comes to music library managament, for example: throw all music in one folder and let Plex sort it out, divide it so that each macro genre has got an entirely different library (I am partially doing it right now) etc
I know it sounds like a silly question but let’s say I am looking for some inspiration, since I have abandoned entirely stuff like iTunes and the likes in favour of Plex, still trying to find my footing
Thanks all!
Will not work.
Only recommended if the genres are so different from each other, that you never, ever could stand to have them within the same play queue. (As some ppl feel with heavy metal vs classical music)
In general, if you really want this to work in Plex, you should bring your music library into order.
A Plex Premium Music library will not tolerate big folders full of songs. It will stall during library scan and you will end up with missing songs or meta data.
Always maintain a folder hierarchy of
Music > Artist > Album > Songs
