Music Library versus number of directories

There is an option to scan my library periodically. In that same area there is a option to include Music library in the periodic scan but an admonishment that the maximum number of watched directories; this may cause problems with large music libraries.

My question is what is the upper directory count prior to issues? Hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands, ??

This should depend on the model of your NAS. Older models had a default of approx. 8k folders, newer ones should have approx. 65k as default.
