Music match for a track bought from Amazon

I was looking for a track on my PMS recently and couldn’t find it. The track was bought and downloaded from Amazon in the UK. The Artist is Nick Murphy and the track is called Goodnight, but Plex is identifying it as by Helen Blondel.
I’ve read that music from online stores often have metadata to identify the track, but it doesn’t seem to be working right in this case. I checked the track in Musicbrainz and it exists. How do I get my PMS to match it correctly?
I’ve read that enabling ‘prefer local metadata’ can fix this but it’s not recommending. I have a lot of media assets which are all fine as far as I know, so I don’t want to make changes that could affect a lot of other things. Also, if I manually change the data through PMS I might end up losing that if I slip up.
Is there some metadata in the Amazon downloaded mp3 that can be altered to fix this problem?

Thanks Nathan. Your answer helped me find some information on Reddit where people were having the same problem. I changed the tags so that the Contributing artist is Nick Murphy, album artist is Various Artists, and the album is Singles. Now it shows up in search in Plex. It isn’t ideal but at least it works and I can find it.

There is no need to put this under various artists, if you can find a genuine release group on MB by this artist.
The “release group” on Musicbrainz corresponds to an “Album” in Plex.
So, put in an Album Artist meta tag with the correct artist name.
Set the Album Title meta tag to the name of the song (or whatever is listed at MB as the title of this release group)

Then store the track in a folder hierarchy as you should do with every other album in Plex:

/Music
   /Album Artist
      /Album Title (or in this case title of the single)
         01 - Track Title.mp3

Thanks OttoKerner. I will keep this in mind when the problem comes up next time. I couldn’t find a release group for this single.
I’m wondering if this single is not cataloged right, as it isn’t visible via the artist name in MusicBrainz, whereas others he has done do show up. I can only find it when searching for the track name.
Presumably I could add a release group in MusicBrainz but I don’t know what I’m doing!
