Music playlist restore?

Hey guys I have a large music collection, and am wondering if I refresh my metadata if I’ll lose these playlists? I understand that I can export the playlist to .txt but am I able to restore? As I have playlists with thousands of songs I’d ideally not have to re add one by one

Refreshing your metadata will not touch your playlists.
The exception could be some smart playlists if the tracks/albums change some properties that are used by the smart playlist’s filter criteria.

If you scan your library files to add/update the media in a library and certain files are no longer in your library, it can happen that those library items will be deleted (incl. whatever custom metadata changes you made and to what playlists you had them added). This will only happen (a) if the file is no longer available, e.g. if a drive isn’t connected or takes too long to spin up, and (b) if you have configured your server to empty its trash after every scan (Settings > [Server Name] > Library > Empty trash automatically after every scan).
Just to be super clear: scanning your library files has nothing to do with refreshing the library metadata!!

I’m not aware of an option to export playlists as text files.

https://github.com/WebTools-NG/WebTools-NG/wiki can give you at least a .csv file of your playlists. With a bit of tinkering, you can turn them into m3u files again.

The problem: there is no officially supported import for playlists into Plex either.
