Music Playlist

Well, I can't get import of m3u playlists to work in any fashion whatsoever now. I can't get any matches on filenames and the artist / song information in the m3us are still reversed from what the plug-in expects.

I'm running Plex on Windows 8.1.

I am assuming the separator should be set to '\'. (The instructions are unclear on this - it says to put what the Plex server expects, but in the browser I see '/' used in paths so I've tried both, many times).

I am assuming the mapping field should be left blank in my case.

I have absolute paths in my m3u.

What am I doing wrong?

Hello,

I install the plug in on plex version 0.9.8.10 running on CentOS 6 and it working just fine, I use playlist manager on my PC with Win7 64bit and everything work perfect for now. My family use WP7 phones and it plays perfect the playlists in normal and random condition from home WiFi and from Mobile Data connections. Only problem is that we are in Bulgaria and we have a lot of Russian and Bulgarian songs which are on Cyrillic language, the play list editor uses some different encoding so the titles are in some bad script and nor recognizable. So we have to rename them in the MP3 tag for example with Winamp, than remove them from PMS, refresh music section, than return them with corrected tags on English alphabet and again refresh music section to appear correct, otherwise everything work just fine.

Added an option to switch the Artist and Title in the import list.

i have noticed when adding tv shows to a playlist it saves only the title of the show eposide

like attached..

very nice plugin - have been waiting for something like this for a long time!

Is there any possibility to control the playback on a client X via http?

I can control the playlist and its songs but I can not tell him to play a playlist xyz on client x.

So sorry for this noob post here. Been using plex for a little while and would love playlists. Use plex with my roku so overall pretty annoying since the GUI on the roku is really limited.

Having trouble getting this plug in installed. I download, drop into the plex > plex media server > resources > plug ins folder, tried to rename with the "-master" on the end, but not getting it to show up anywhere.

Any tips on what I'm missing? Thanks!

should go in the local appdata area not the program area

in the plugins folder

on windows it would be in

Aha! Got it in , thanks! So, how do I add songs to playlists now? I configured plex to IP at 192.168.1.205, which is the plex comp. Should an option to add to a playlist appear? I created a new playlist and set all options, just not sure how to add the songs

^ as above. got both the plugins working now i think but im not sure how to add tracks to a playlist. can you add within PMS or do have to create a playlist out of software and import?

There is also a standalone application available for managing the playlists.

Either way, I got standalone app and it works. Also works on roku device, but super slow so standalone works great, thanks!

That are the menu options that you get when there are no playlists yet. All other options should become available once you create at least on playlist.

Maybe you are using a plex client that has it's own caching mechanism build in for for channel url's. I have seen something like that with my Panasonic TV.

yup this is exactly what i get. when i first clicked on playlist maintenance i did get the option to add to the playlist (it wouldnt let me browse my library though) but now that option has gone even though i have created playlists.

edit: after restarting PMS the options have returned under playlist maintenance but when i try to add tracks it just says channel unavailable.

me and my live use this playlist very often, thanks for great job.

I have a question for the stand alone application Playlist editor, it works fine but searching tracks is not possible.

If I want to search exact track name which I want to add to playlist I use my WP7 or Windows Plex application. In this two Plex clients there is option to search by track name, but in WEB application and Playlist editor standalone applications it is not possible, there we can search only by Artist, Gener and so on.

Can you add search by track to Playlist editor stand alone application ?

First I would like to say great work on this plugin. I’ve been looking for this function in plex for awhile now. Currently my most used client is Plex Connect, and I am wondering if support will be added as of now the channel loads but won’t shuffle the playlists.

The one thing that would make the playlist managers just about perfect (for me, at least) would be the ability to select entire albums with one click and have all tracks added, without having to drill down to the individual track level.

Hi There,

thanks for all the hard work on this plugin.

I have installed, configured and created playlists. I can play them on a web browser and on my android phone.

I am running plex on a linux mint server. I can't get a playlist to play on a windows 7 computer running the plex client. I can see album art and playlists but it just sits there.

any ideas?
