Music Playlists (Plexamp)

So, giving a song 5* adds it to the  Tracks playlist. Great.

However, if I 5* track 6 on Disc 1 of a multi disc album, all track 6’s from each disc are added to the playlist.

Is there a fix?

That doesn’t sound right, unless the item is improperly matched and doesn’t have unique identifiers for each track. Do you see the duplicated rating in web as well?

Oh yes. The rating is duplicated. And removing the rating from either track removes both tracks from the playlist. (I say both, but if it’s a six disc set, all six tracks have rating duplicated)

Right, then we’d need more information about the album. Is it matched (i.e. a “real” album)? We need something more to go on because it doesn’t trivially reproduce (and shouldn’t).

Yes, in all instances it reproduces. All albums are real and are auto matched correctly (using Plex Music).

For a specific example:
Cyndi Lauper - True Colors, The Best of Cyndi Pauper (2014)
If I 5* track 9 on Disc 1, All Through the Night, then track 9 on Disc 2 also gets 5*s and appears on Auto playlist  Tracks. Removing the rating from either track removes it from both.

Well, there must be something different going on here, and we need more data to figure out what.

Go to one such track rated five stars and Get Info and then View XML on it in the web app and let’s have a look.

Is this release available here: Cyndi Lauper - MusicBrainz ?

Plex uses this database for this type of metadata. If your specific release is not listed there, it is not matching correctly. I tried to find it but I didn’t see it listed?

This one.

All tracks are tagged and named correctly.

Please provide the requested data.

Yes my specific release is listed there and is being matched correctly.

He meant the XML  it will provide more info.

Thanks anyhow for the release link. I checked the release if the recording IDs had been mixed up somehow but it looked good. Very weird.
