Not sure if this is a bug or I have a setting wrong. I am using Plexamp on an iPhone and have smart playlists to play all five star tracks as an example. I noticed some duplicate tracks and it was from the same track on an album and then the same on a compilation album e.g. the best of. So I changed the compilation track to 2 star and left the original track as 5 stars. But I noticed that it actually changed both tracks to 5 stars. In fact it seems to happen ever time that the rating gets carried across tracks with the same name for that artist. Anyone else seeing this and does anyone have a work around?
Yeah, this was reported a couple years ago, and again last year. It doesn’t seem to be limited to Plexamp. I haven’t seen a response from Plex.
Yeah, that’s a weird behavior. Here is the workaround I use:
So all tracks with duplicated stars I don’t want in my smart playlists get a “SMARTRATING-IGNORE” mood. All my smart playlists also have a “Track Mood is not SMARTRATING-IGNORE” criteria. It works well enough.
